Mindset
We asked 100+ employees to do Lifebook at Mindvalley—here’s what happened
In 2017, Vishen, the founder and CEO of Mindvalley, had a groundbreaking idea. He decided to gather over 100 Mindvalley employees—designers, engineers, marketers, and more—and take a radical step. They paused their work, turned off their phones, and immersed themselves in questioning their current reality and building a new vision for their future.
This was no ordinary workplace seminar or team retreat. It was Lifebook at Mindvalley—an experiment in personal growth that the team had never experienced before. Over three days, each employee delved deep into reimagining not just their careers but also their health, relationships, emotional well-being, and the legacy they wanted to leave behind. The ripple effects of this experience began to emerge in unexpected ways in the days that followed.
Since that initial gathering in 2017, Mindvalley has continued to organize Lifebook retreats for its employees, inspiring transformation, fostering purpose-driven growth, and cultivating extraordinary lives.
What is Lifebook?
Lifebook, created by serial entrepreneurs Jon and Missy Butcher, is like having a playbook for life. It helps individuals map out the 12 most important areas of their lives—from health to relationships to career—and align them for holistic success. Instead of merely hoping for aspirations to happen, Lifebook provides a framework to identify what one truly desires and how to achieve it, both personally and professionally.
By asking four simple questions—What do I want? Why do I want it? How will I achieve it? What steps will I take?—individuals can create a comprehensive game plan for their lives that would otherwise take years to figure out independently.
The Ripple Effects of Lifebook
Vishen’s own experience with Lifebook in 2010 left him with a detailed blueprint for his life, showing him that it was about crafting ‘magic’ rather than just goal-setting. Inspired by this transformation, he introduced Lifebook to Mindvalley, allowing team members to step away from their routines and design a personal development plan filled with clarity and purpose.
Employees like Bruno Azenha, Hadhami Talbi, and Nik Mahirah Nik Mohammad have found profound shifts in various areas of their lives through Lifebook. From strengthening relationships to rediscovering faith and challenging financial beliefs, the impact of these retreats goes beyond the sessions themselves. The renewed sense of energy and actionable insights brought back to work by employees create a ripple effect that shapes their roles, personal lives, and overall impact.
Live Vibrantly, Naturally
Mindvalley’s Lifebook retreats last for 72 hours, but for readers, the journey begins with a 90-minute free Lifebook Masterclass that offers a glimpse into how this experience could transform their lives. In a world where most of our time is consumed by routines that may not bring fulfillment, Lifebook presents an opportunity to create life deliberately and intentionally.
Breakthroughs like Bruno’s deeper clarity on values and Hadhami’s newfound balance showcase the power of the Mindvalley Lifebook experience. The invitation is extended to stop living on autopilot and start building the life one truly deserves. Welcome to a life filled with purpose and clarity.
